Continuing our contribution to the sustainable revolution, Castelli introduce the new eco Oceano collection, recycled notebooks and diaries of refined elegance and high quality.
A reinvention product…
Oceano is a reinvention product – the act of producing something new based on something that already exists. Castelli remain at the forefront of industry sustainability techniques whilst retaining high quality and excellent branding capabilities.
With meticulous attention to detail, we have taken the time to fully understand the tangible eco benefits of our Oceano products. We've run the stats, and based upon a 500ml water bottle, x 1 recycled bottle equates to the production of x 2 Oceano covers (medium notebook or A5 diary sizes).
To date, Castelli have effectively repurposed 14,500 bottles (as at August 2023) and will continue to monitor our efforts in collaboration with our customers positive purchasing decisions.
The process…
Water bottles are collected, cleaned and processed to remove impurities. This is then melted down and transformed into small pellets or flakes ready for their reinvention.
For our Oceano notebooks and diaries, these recycled flakes are spun and stretched into the 100% composite recycled yarn and woven in the high quality recycled textile fabric.
Oceano cover…
The beautiful textile cover is a testament to the advancement of modern recycling techniques with a refined elegance and feel, tactile in nature. Derived from used plastic bottles, spun into recycled yarn and woven in the time honoured fashion.
Oceano covers are officially accredited by The Global Recycle Standard, an important international non-profit organisation for responsible and sustainable development in the textile industry.
The standard recognises the importance of recycling for the growth of a sustainable production and consumption model, with the aim of reducing the consumption of resources (virgin raw materials, water and energy) and increasing the quality of recycled products.
Oceano paper…
The paper pages within Oceana are also curated with a continued focus on our sustainable product design. The diary and notebook pages comprise of high quality FSC® certified 100% recycled white paper crafted using green energy.
